| Another early start. It was dam chilly in the shade when we started out. |

| The scenery was pretty desolate on todays route. Desolate but spectacular all the same. |
| We saw some Tibetans plowing the land. Using Yaks to pull the plow. Have no idea why but they decorate the Yaks while they are working. |

| When we got to Xigaxe we checked into the hotel. In the foyer I saw a display (see photos) of a Tibetan and some Yaks. I'm guessing the Yaks are more than just work animails to the people in this region but I have no idea what. |
| As it was still light we popped out for a walk around the town to stretch our legs. On the walk we came across a group of Chinese workers doing their daily exercises. Strange to us Westerner but quite normal for them. |
