So what was it all about ???

Everest Base Camp - Gyirong (Tibet)

This was our last full day in Tibet and our longest distance, in 1 day, on the bikes.

Several of us run out of petrol. I was lucky enough to run out just after I crossed the high pass (5198 meter). So, with the aid of Stuart riding behind me and putting his foot on the back of my bike, I managed to coast to the next Petrol Station. A couple of the others were less lucky and run out climbing to the top of the pass. So, they had to wait until the support truck caught them up and got them going again.

Every bike that ran out of fuel was a carburated model. So, that proves Fuel Injection is more economical at altitude.
