For this Year's short break, with Mum and Dad, we decided to go to the Lake District. We have all been there before, at various times, but through it would be nice to go again.
We stayed at a Cabin / Lodges on the shores of Lake Windermere, just out side Windermere itself. It was a site with, probably, 50 or so of these Cabins varying in size.
Unfortunetly, we only had 3 days there becasue we had to get back. Still, we made the most of them.
Taking lunch at Kirkby Lonsdale and Keswick, not on the same day of course. Visiting the National Park Vistors Center, which was almost next door to where we were staying. Driving over both Hardknott Pass and Wrynose Pass. And we also found time to feed the ducks on the Lakeside.
Our last day there was my birtday. And I must say it was really nice to spend it with Mum and Dad, especially as they had brought presents. Not that I'm shollow or anything.
As we didn't have to get home by any particular time, as long as we got home that day. We took the scenic route (a polite way to say I got lost) across the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Found a few step hill and some very narrow roads.
Another holiday with great memories, and best of all presents to take home.
