So, what do I think of this Bike ???

I like the VFR800 so much I couldn't wait until the 1200 came out. I just wanted one.

I plumped for the Automatic gearbox. As I wanted to try it and see what it was like. All the reports were that it was really good.

I was really looking forward to getting it. First ride out, I drew my conclusions.

I can only sum up my conclusion as . . . . total disappointment !!!

I'll try to be as honest as I can and not bias. Before I rode the bike I had pre-conceptions about an automatic bike. I don't like automatic cars but before I started to put the automatic bike down, I wanted to use one. So, my opinion could be based on experience rather than bias.

Truth was I couldn't fault the gearbox. It did everything it said on the tin. However, I just didn't like it and couldn't get on with it. I can only sum it up as WRONG !!!

In addition I also found the reach to the handle bars too long for me. I am a short arse. So, that isn't a criticism of the bike. Just a personal view.

It was a real shame. As I had wanted this bike so much. As a result of my dislike for this bike, I hardly used it. Eventually I swapped it for a Honda VFR 800 CrossRunner (about a year after I purchased it).
