So, what do I think of this Bike ??? |
This was my first 4 stroke bike. I purchased it from a friend of a friend. Who lived in Colchester. |
The bike was really cheap because the guy had taken the head and barrels off and never put it back together. |
There was nothing wrong with the bike. It was just a case buying gaskets and reassembling the engine. |
Must admit I was a little nervous about putting the engine back together but with the help of a couple of friends, I realised it wasn't as hard as I thought. |
I replaced the upright (standard) hadlebars with clipons, fitted a 4-in-1 Sebring exhaust and a back rack. |
With the clipons it was a long reach to the handle bars. Being young this wasn't a problem for my back. |
I went every where on this bike. It wasn't a fast bike but it was great fun. |
I did have a problem with the gear box. In that it started jumping out of second gear. When I stripped the engine it was found to be the selecter drum. |
I replaced the selecter drum and all was well again. |
Eventually the selecter drun went again (it must have been a design fault). This time, rather than fix it, I traded it into a Bike Shop (BikeWise, London Road) for my first Suzuki GS1000. |
